Wood descriptions:
Walnut: Hardwood, heavy, sturdy. Not recommended for paint.
Maple: Hardwood, heavy, sturdy. Stains and paints well without blotching.
Wormy Maple: Hardwood, heavy, sturdy. Features wormholes. Stains and paints well without blotching.
White Oak: Heavy, sturdy, olive colored.
Poplar: Softer hardwood, faint grain. Excellent for painting. Stain can be blotchy (use pre-conditioner or sanding sealer).
Pine: Softwood, strong grain. Develops dings/scratches. Use poly for protection. Paint or stain (can be blotchy; use pre-conditioner or sanding sealer).

Do you offer custom sizes or custom designs?
Yes. Custom work is a large part of what we do. Many of our products can be made or modified to suit specific dimensions, materials, finishes, or design requirements. If you don't see exactly what you're looking for online, reach out to us to discuss your project. We do not offer custom metal leg sizing at this time.
Where are your products made?
Fractal Designs is based in Belmont, Ontario, where we manufacture our custom furniture and many of our solid wood products. We also work with trusted manufacturing partners for select products and components. We focus on offering high-quality products that meet our standards regardless of where they are produced.
Can I pick up my order locally?
Yes. Local pickup is available from our Belmont, Ontario location. This can be a great option for larger or heavier orders, especially for customers located in London, St. Thomas, Woodstock, and the surrounding areas. We'll let you know when your order is ready for pickup.
