I was surprised how easy this is to use. I associate Epoxy with the hassle of mixing, but the Mohwak putty is a two-layer cylinder of the two components. Simply slice off what you need and knead it, no measuring required. You then have c. 6 minutes of working time to fill voids in your project and about half an hour until it is cured hard enought to sand. It sands fairly easily and smoothly.
Another surprise was how well the "maple" colour actually matched my lumber. Of course, it does not take up oil finishes the same way the wood does, but I used Osmo PolyX which doesn't darken maple very much, so the match is still acceptable.

We just completed a kitchen reno and we wanted a special table as a centrepiece. We live in Whitby and started looking here for hand-made tables and chairs, and we ended up at Fractal Designs in Belmont. Brad was terrific from the get-go. He was knowledgeable and listened closely to what we were asking. He was never pushy. We saw several beautiful tables in the showroom, and one caught our eye - a wormy maple (simply a description, not a negative :) ) with Mennonite-made chairs. And the price was excellent. The set was ready when he said it would be, so I rented a cargo van and Brad and co. packed up the furniture with the moving blankets I brought and sent me home. The pictures tell the tale. We have a stunning, counter-height table witha curved edge that fits in perfectly. Response from all those who have seen it has been enthusiastic. Thank you so much, Brad and Fractal Designs. The table leg is strong and stable. It was easy to install and holds the table firmly without wobbling. The quality feels good and it works as expected.
I have to say that after looking on line for legs, and seeing a huge variety in price, I remembered that you get what you pay for, and the cheap legs at Amazon would surely have been a disappointment, given so many low reviews. And some legs made in the USA were much more expensive and probably not necessarily any better.
I enjoyed the personal interaction with Fractal, with them calling and answering emails. It's clear that they care about their business providing a great part.
A couple of comments though. Due to the president's unwarranted tariff war with Canada, the legs ended up costing me more (by about 39%) They called to verify I still wanted the legs, which I did. So much for Mr. Orange Cheeto head's claim that the manufacturer's will pay the tarriffs! It came out of my pocket!! (Sorry for the political rant)
The other issue was that with the packaging as it is, with a fairly heavy box and kind of awkward, The shippers decided to drop it and slightly bend the top attachment rail. (easily fixed) Not sure that any amount of corners around the legs would have helped. It's one of those things.
If you've made it this far, I was very pleased with the manufacture of these legs. I am excited to finish my desk and install these. I decided to add a little pizzaz to them and am putting some light curly maple in them to add a good contrast to the walnut desktop.
So yeah, good value and a good product. Next time I do a project needing these kind of legs, I have my supplier.

Not only does it serve the purpose, but it truly is a statement piece that will be with us for the rest of our lives. Now we have to upgrade the other furniture which it puts to shame!
I placed the order and they let me know before they shipped that it was subject to the US tariffs so I cancelled. I very much appreciated the honesty, so I ended up purchasing them anyways to support them. In the end, they didn't cost any more than other options. They were high quality. I've already placed a second order.

For ebonizing wood while maintaining the appearance of wood, the Intense Black works very well on diffuse porous woods like soft maple (hard maple doesn't absorb as well). The application is easy on relatively narrow parts before assembly, but can be a nightmare on a fully assembled piece. Good UV resistance compared to aniline dyes, less muddy than pigment stains. Rubio 2C topcoat (2 coats) makes it colour fast (i.e., colour won't rub off with a damp cloth) in a way that other HWOs don't.

We’re very happy with our live-edge console table for behind the couch in our newly renovated & finished basement. Great customer service and the table arrived quickly, well packaged and it was easy to assemble. The table is very high quality (thick walnut) with unique character. I highly recommend fractal designs.

I found these legs through Google and they were a close match with some metal railing we had made. We had some remnants of quartzite countertops and I decided to make a coffee table with it. These legs with a plywood base worked out perfectly. I also have to say that the customer service is excellent and personal. Highly recommended.
